As you approach the building, you can still see the domes that fell from the roof during the 1988 earthquake.

Surb Nshan is the oldest church in Gyumri, located on the beautiful Rustaveli street of the city. The Church of the Savior was built in 1858-1873 under the leadership of architect Tadevos Andikyan. After major renovations, Amenaprkich reopened to the public in the spring of 2023.

The Mother Armenia statue and park honor the victory of the Soviet Union in World War II. The complex is located two kilometers from the central park of Gyumri.

In the neighborhood is Gyumri’s iconic Sev Berd (“Black Fortress”). Built in the 19th century from black tuff stone, the circular structure originally served as a military barracks and prison. Today, the restored fort serves as a cultural and educational center where various exhibitions, concerts and events are held. There is a small museum inside.
